Teapot Arts Hub

Come and make a glorious mess with us.

A creative space at the entrance to Ballan offering multi arts skill shares and workshops, studio and exhibition spaces, music and arts therapy, and outside spaces to make a glorious mess!

Beginners very welcome. Bring nothing but curiosity.

What we offer

Four ways to get your hands dirty

Everything here is built for people who want to have a go. Turn up, try something, and see where it takes you.

The garden at the hub: a blue mosaic fountain and planters in front of the yellow studio building.

Workshops & skill shares

Hands-on sessions in clay, painting, textiles, print and more. Small groups, real materials, and no prior experience needed — most sessions are built for people picking something up for the first time.

A potter’s tool roll, callipers and brushed-on clay bowls on a paint-spattered work table.

Studio & exhibition space

Book time at a bench or a wheel, and put finished work on the walls. We run regular exhibitions so local makers have somewhere real to show what they’ve made.

Music & arts therapy

Music sessions and arts therapy in a calm, supported space. No performance pressure, no wrong notes — just time to make, play and be heard.

Outdoor creative areas

Big tables, water, shade and room to spread out. The messy work lives outside, so nobody has to be careful.

Where we are

At the entrance to Ballan

The hub sits right on the way into town, in the Moorabool Shire of Victoria — an easy run from Melbourne and a short hop from the towns around us. If you’re driving through, you’ll see us before you see the main street.

Our makers come from all over the shire, and everyone’s welcome to come and look around before they commit to a class.

The Makers’ Ledger

We’re exploring a simple way to record who made what. Nothing about the hub changes — this is an extra, and only if it turns out to be genuinely useful to our makers.

  • On-chain provenance for local artists — a permanent record of who made a piece and when
  • Limited editions, so a print run can be honestly numbered and verified
  • Member credits or workshop tokens, so class bookings and studio time can be tracked

To switch this on we need: the chain (for example Polygon or Base), a wallet provider and a WalletConnect project ID, the hub’s receiving wallet address, an RPC endpoint, the contract standards to use (ERC-721 editions, ERC-1155 workshop tokens, ERC-20 member credits), and a decision on where it is hosted and deployed.

Wallet connection

No wallet is connected. This button is disabled on purpose until the details above are supplied.

Good to know

Frequently asked, honestly answered

Do I need any experience to join a class?

None at all. Most of our sessions are designed for people who have never tried the thing before. If a class does need prior skills, we say so in the description.

What should I bring?

Just yourself, and clothes you don’t mind getting messy. We supply materials and tools for workshops. If anything specific is needed we’ll tell you when you book.

Can I hire the studio or exhibition space?

Yes. You can book bench or wheel time, and the exhibition space is available for shows. Get in touch with what you have in mind and we’ll work out the details.

Is the hub accessible?

Access notes for the site and each room are still being written up. Tell us what you need and we’ll give you a straight answer before you travel — and we’ll do our best to make it work.
